Your AdThrive Plugin has a built in feature that allows you to turn off your ads on posts or pages directly in WordPress.
You can disable all ads, or a few specific ad types on individual posts and pages by following these steps:
- In your WordPress dashboard post editor, scroll down below the editing window.
- You will see a box titled “AdThrive Ads”, with checkboxes to block all ads, just in-image ads, or just content ads, as shown here:
- Choose which ads you’d like to disable and check the corresponding box.
- Click save!
Please note: if you select the disable all ads checkbox -- this will remove all of your AdThrive ads from the page or post, including in-image ads, sidebar ads, the sticky footer ad, etc.
Some page editors don’t fully support this functionality, so if you ever run into any difficulty blocking ads in posts yourself, just let us know. You can submit a request here in the Help Center, or send an email to email@example.com and we’ll help!
If you're using another publishing platform, or you aren’t using the AdThrive Ads plugin on your site, we can provide you with a script to place in specific posts/pages that will block ads from appearing. Submit a request here in the Help Center, or send a quick email to firstname.lastname@example.org!
Also, please let us know if you'd like any help getting the script added on your site. We’re happy to help with this and make sure everything is functioning properly!
An important note on disabling ads:
Disabling ads on specific pages will always impact your earning potential to some degree, so feel free to check with us if you’d like help deciding if it's the right move for you. If a page with the ads turned off receives a large influx of traffic, that can have a sizeable impact on your RPM (average ad earnings per 1,000 pageviews).
Turning ads off for a sponsored post? It's a great idea to make a reminder for yourself to turn them back on once that contract is up, so you can begin earning from the ads on that post again!
We generally recommend only disabling ads when you absolutely must, and re-enabling them as soon as you can!
